Headway cut some therapists' UnitedHealth-Optum pay by 30% on January 1, 2025. One psychologist's 45-minute session rate fell from $144.27 to $103, per ClearHealthCosts. Now Aetna is cutting Alma therapist rates on July 15, 2026. Therapists pay first. Patients are next in line.
