Couch Commons is a therapist directory and publishing platform owned and operated by Mental Wealth Solutions, Inc. If you're looking for a therapist, eligible profiles show a dated license receipt and link you straight to the clinician's own booking, email, or phone — Couch Commons never receives the message. If you're a clinician, membership buys a public profile tied to that receipt — never placement, referrals, or rank.
The directory is opening and building with its founding members. Member counts publish on its stats page once they reach eight — profiles appear only after a license record passes its checks.
The product is the receipt
Not a badge, a shield, or a checkmark: a document that names what was checked, where, and when. The license number itself stays internal and is never printed publicly.

How verification works
- A clinician provides name, credential, licensing state, and license number. The number is stored internally, never shown publicly.
- Couch Commons checks the issuing authority's official public record. Person, credential, jurisdiction, and current status must match.
- A matching result creates a dated public receipt: credential, state, source, status, and date checked.
- An error, timeout, ambiguous name, or unclear status is not a pass — it goes to human review. If review can't confirm the record, there is no verified designation.
- Licenses are rechecked periodically. A later mismatch pauses the profile while a person reviews it; an inconclusive result is never published as an accusation.
What it does not prove: therapeutic fit, availability, insurance coverage, quality, or outcomes. Starting membership does not purchase or guarantee verification, a public listing, placement, or results.
Filters decide who's eligible. Money never decides who's first.
Search filters establish eligibility; a published fair rotation establishes order. Membership, optional support, group affiliation, or payment cannot buy rank. The ordering rules are public on Couch Commons' own site.
Direct contact, narrow data
Couch Commons profile → the clinician's own website, booking, email, or phone → the conversation happens there.
Couch Commons does not store search text, visitor identity, seeker messages, IP addresses, or per-person click histories in that journey. It keeps day-level aggregate view and destination-click counts, which members see as totals. Full inventory: the Couch Commons privacy page.
Clinician membership
$19.99 a month, billed through Stripe. No setup fee, no term contract — cancel before renewal. All sales are final. One clinician, one account. Current terms live on the Couch Commons join page, which is the authority if this summary ever lags it.
Membership starts onboarding — it does not purchase verification, a public listing, placement, referrals, clients, rank, revenue, or results. A profile becomes public only after it is approved and the license record passes the product's eligibility rules.
